Dr Matteo Molinari presented at the BAFA Conference last week, receiving an award for Best Conference Paper.
The paper, entitled: ‘Advancing Management Accounting practice: focus on the challenges in reporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals’ is related to a research project funded by CIMA.
Dr Molinari says: ‘The research paper explores how management accountants use SDGs reporting tools, techniques, and practices to shape organisational change towards sustainability.
‘In this research we identify a reinvigorated role of management accountant, adding immediate practical value, and contributing to promoting and developing the science of management accountancy.
‘Additionally, the study provides greater insights into the ways management accounting and control systems are adopted, to align the activity of the organizations with the expectations of the stakeholders.’
