Knowledge Transfer Partnership with Energy Firm a Success

Since 2018, The University of Kent has been working in collaboration with London-based energy management company, Zero Trace Procurement Limited Kent (ZTP) via their Knowledge Transfer Partnership to develop a new risk management product.

Kent Business School’s very own Dr Jaideep Oberoi provided academic expertise to the collaboration, an initiative which involved recruiting a recent post graduate student to assist in the development of new initiatives. He said:

The KTP truly helped my colleagues and me to strengthen the practical foundations of our research and teaching and to refine our understanding of the energy risk management challenges faced by firms.

The project has been an overall success with the transfer of new knowledge into the development of an award-winning product, Kiveev, a platform which gives clients the ability to forecast price movements and model the risk associated with their open contracts.

The product received the Broker Initiative of the Year award at The Energy Awards, the premier energy industry event, in November 2019.
