Film Trainee Opportunities

**Opportunity submitted by filmoffice@kent.gov.uk **

Kent Film Office is currently running a scheme where they are giving BME people the chance to get their foot in the door and work in the industry. They are looking to fill 6 trainee spots available. They are also keen to meet people from social backgrounds that would otherwise find it difficult to make that move into the industry due to funds etc.

Anyone can apply for any department they are interested in – they do not have to be experienced in the department they want to work in but they need to have drive, enthusiasm, passion for the industry and a little bit of knowledge about what  Kent Film Office does. A bit of experience will be an advantage.

They are shooting in 2 blocks from February 2017 and would like 3 trainees to start from early February for 6-7 weeks. The next 3 trainees will need to be available from late April/May for 6-7 weeks. Please note that these dates are subject to change. Production will be based in Deal, Kent and shooting will be 5 days per week. Applicants must be 18 and over.

The traineeship is not a work experience placement. Successful applicants will be part of the crew team. The payment rate is currently TBC but will meet the national minimum wage.

Kent Film Office would like to meet candidates next week and also in the new year – ideally the first or second week of January in Deal.  If you are successful you may be asked to meet with the Head of Department before a final decision is made. Candidates applying must be available from the above start dates.

If you are interested in this opportunity, please email filmoffice@kent.gov.uk with your CV and a covering letter ASAP.
