Justice and Persuasion

A one-day workshop exploring the art of persuasion and the concept of justice. Participants learn about techniques from legal argument. You will watch, analyse and debate film excerpts demonstrating the art of persuasion and practice dramatic skills in interdisciplinary rehearsal groups. This is your opportunity to improve your effectiveness in public speaking and create dynamic and engaging performances as well as engage with other disciplines to enhance your understanding of persuasion in performance.

Justice and Persuasion workshops are multi-award-winning events (including awards in the University of Kent Postgraduate Experience Awards 2012-2013 and the University of Kent Teaching Awards 2014)

The workshops are open to University of Kent students from ALL disciplines and all stages of study.

ALL participants earn 15 Employability points and receive certificates of attendance.

No previous experience in either law, drama or public speaking is required.

The workshops have been acknowledged to have “an impact on students’ learning, developing their confidence and skills beyond the academic curriculum.” Dr. Janice Malcolm, Director of the Centre for the Study of Higher Education 2014.
