On Monday 24 March, Italian author Antonio Franchini will be visiting the University as part of the Department of Italian’s ‘Meet the Author’ series.

Antonio Franchini is one of the most interesting Italian writers of today. He is the author of more than ten books of fiction and non-fiction, including Gladiatori (Mondadori, 2005) and L’absusivo (Marsilio, 2009). In 2003 he won the Premio Mondello, one of Italy’s most prestigious literary prizes, and his work has been translated into many languages. He is also the main editor of Mondadori, the biggest European publishing house.

During his talk he will read extracts of his works in English and engage in a public debate.
