Jeremy Rossman and Eastern Arc working to develop community-level disease containment strategies for Covid-19

Doctor Jeremy Rossman

In response to Covid-19, my non-profit organisation, Research-Aid Networks, is collaborating with researchers at Kent and in the Eastern ARC to develop community-level disease containment strategies. Our project aims to provide communities with essential information on preventative actions and on local viral transmission, through supplemental virus and antibody testing services. We will also monitor community compliance with recommended safe behaviours. Through a real-time analysis of disease transmission and population behaviour we will be able to rapidly identify increases in Covid-19 cases or decreases in safe behaviours. Working with the city council we will then target specific messaging and interventions to rapidly contain any localised viral outbreaks. This project represents a scalable approach that can be used to contain Covid-19 transmission until a vaccine is available.
