Surveys tests and questionnaires
Sometimes you may need to use standard tests and measures for assignments. The School of Psychology will often provide what you need, but if you need to find them yourself the list below gives good quality resources that are freely available:
- FAQ: Finding Information about Psychological Tests: part of the Testing and Assessment section of the American Psychological Association website
- Psychological Testing Centre: British Psychological Society’s guide to psychological testing techniques and resources
You can also use resources like PsycINFO by limiting your search by “Tests and Measures.” The results you retrieve will list the tests and measurements used in the document. To find out if the full-text of the test is included in the document add the term “appended” to your search.
The Library does not hold any psychological or psychometric tests. This is because of their specialized nature. They have to be carried out under professional supervision by a qualified psychologist. Many of them are copyright-protected and are not publicly available. It is worth contacting an author direct to ask permission to use their test, as sometimes an author will happily allow a student to do so under special conditions and will then send the test to the student personally.
