Vice-Chancellor affirms Kent’s commitment to remain a European University

University of Kent Vice-Chancellor Professor Dame Julia Goodfellow

Following the UK referendum on membership of the EU, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kent and President of Universities UK, Professor Dame Julia Goodfellow, issued a statement on Friday 24 June affirming Kent’s commitment to remain a European University:

‘The University of Kent is proud to be outward facing and international. We are especially proud of our diverse student body and our European and international staff. We recognise that we benefit greatly from this diversity.’

Head of Kent Law School Professor Toni Williams spoke in support of this commitment:

‘Kent Law School is proud to be profoundly international. We have extensive European and global connections through our student and staff body, our alumni, our research, and our institutional relationships. We value diversity in all ways, and are outward looking and welcoming in all of our intellectual endeavours. Kent’s commitment to remain a European University is central to this, and I strongly support and echo the comments of the University’s Vice-Chancellor.’
