Baroness Stern, Lord Hastings and diplomat Shan Morgan will each receive an honorary Doctor of Civil Law degree from the University of Kent this month.
Baroness Stern, a life peer in the House of Lords, has been awarded an honorary doctorate in recognition of her contribution to criminal justice and penal reform.
The award to Lord Hastings, Global Head of Citizenship at KPMG International, has been made in recognition of his contribution to social responsibility and development.
Diplomat Shan Morgan, the UK’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the European Union, has been recognised for her contribution to worldwide and European diplomacy.
Both Baroness Stern and Lord Hastings will receive their honorary degrees at Canterbury Cathedral on Tuesday 15 July. Shan Morgan will be awarded her honorary degree at Canterbury Cathedral on Thursday 17 July.
