Still time to apply for LLM by research degrees at Kent

There’s still time to apply for fee waivers and bursaries for LLM by research programmes beginning at Kent Law School’s Canterbury campus in 2017.

With more than 60 postgraduate research students, Kent Law School offers a pluralistic and intellectual environment for research in which traditional and critical legal scholarship, theoretical and empirical work, and interdisciplinary studies all flourish.

Ranked 8th in the UK for research intensity in the 2014 Research Excellence Framework (and listed amongst the top 100 law schools in the world in the QS World University Rankings by subject 2017), Kent Law School (and the University of Kent) offers a wide range of funding for postgraduate research students interesting in studying for an LLM by research.

The Law School is currently inviting applications for the Larry Grant Scholarship and also offers a number of fee waivers.

It is expected that successful applicants will undertake their studies in areas of existing research strength of the School. Research proposals in socio-legal studies, law and the humanities, and critical legal studies are particularly welcome.

Applicants should normally have obtained, or be about to obtain an undergraduate degree at a high Upper Second Class Honours level (2:1 or equivalent from other countries), or a postgraduate degree with Merit or Distinction.

Together with a high-quality research proposal, applicants are asked to submit a sample of written work (see: kls-studentships-2016-2017 PDF) and to apply online by 5 May 2017. If you have any questions, please check the School’s online guidance or email Co-Director of Postgraduate Research Dr Emily Grabham via klspgstudentships@kent.ac.uk
