Law School staff raise £850 for local housing advice charity

A craft sale at Kent Law School  has raised £850 for the Canterbury Housing Advice Centre (CHAC).

Organised by Professor Helen Carr and Sharon Rouse, PA to the Head of School, all craft items for the sale were supplied and created by staff and students from the School.

Sharon said: ‘We  would like to say a really BIG thank you to everyone who helped make, bake, staff the coffee/tea bar, donate items for sale and who came to support and spend on the day.  It was a real team effort. There are many skills amongst us – what a talented bunch we are!’

CHAC provides free, independent housing help and advice to people in Canterbury. The charity, which is chaired by Senior Law Lecturer Nick Jackson, has been affected by major funding cuts and will need to raise more than £40,000 to survive in 2015.
