Kent is ranked 9th in the UK for research intensity, and 18th overall, in The Complete University Guide 2020 subject table for law, published today.
The Law School’s top 10 ranking for research intensity is a measure of the proportion of academic staff actively involved in research and reflects our commitment to producing world-leading research that makes a difference. The School is also ranked 17th in the UK for research quality within the latest ranking.
Through our research, the Law School seeks to make meaningful contributions to people and society both nationally and internationally. The success of our challenging and supportive research culture is reflected in our securing of research funding, prizes and awards; in external assessments such as the Research Excellence Framework; and in our ability to attract outstanding international visitors and research students.
The Complete University Guide (CUG) is a trusted and influential resource long used by students looking to study at university. This year it ranked 103 UK law school against five measures which also include student satisfaction, graduate prospects and entry standards.
Kent Law School is proud to retain its top 20 position in all three major UK league tables (currently also 11th in The Times Good University Guide 2019 and 13th in The Guardian University Guide 2019). The Law School also has an excellent global reputation for law – ranked 58th in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2019, it is amongst the top 100 law schools in the world in the Shanghai Rankings Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2018 and amongst the top 200 law schools in the QS World University Rankings 2019.
