Kent ranked amongst top 15 UK law schools in latest Guardian University Guide

Kent continues to rank as one of the best law schools in the UK climbing to a position of 15th in The Guardian University Guide 2017 subject league table for law.

Within this year’s league table, published today, the School is ranked 5th nationally for the percentage of graduates (87%) who find graduate-level jobs, or are studying further, within six months of graduation. And, for the second consecutive year, more than 90% of students are satisfied with both the course and teaching at Kent.

The Guardian University Guide is one of the most trusted and influential resources for students looking to study at university, with the subject table for law ranking all 96 university law schools across the UK. It’s the third year the School has been listed in the top 20, having been ranked 17th in 2015 and 14th in 2014.

Kent is also currently listed amongst leading UK law schools in two further national league tables, with a ranking of 13th in the Times Good University Guide 2016 and a ranking of 19th in the Complete University Guide 2017.

Earlier this year, Kent Law School was placed among the top 150 law schools in the world in the QS World University Rankings by Subject. Within the QS ranking, Kent is placed 19th out of only 30 UK law schools that made the global list of top 200 institutions.

In addition to its reputation as a leading UK law school with a distinctive ‘critical approach’ to teaching law, the School has an international reputation for producing world-leading research. In the most recent Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2014, Kent Law School is ranked eighth in the UK for research intensity. Almost all (99%) of the School’s research was judged to be of international quality with 79% judged as ‘world-leading’ or ‘internationally excellent’. The REF, an independent survey of UK universities, also ranks the School seventh for research power with more than a third of the School’s research being given the highest 4* rating.

Kent Law School has previously achieved excellent results in the most recent National Student Survey (NSS) with 90% of final year undergraduate students reporting that they were satisfied overall and confirming that they continue to be amongst the most satisfied students in the UK.
