Kent Law School maintains a top 20 position in all three national league tables for law in the UK after being ranked 17th in The Times Good University Guide 2020 this week.
Within the latest ranking of 101 law schools, Kent is placed 6th in the UK for the quality of its research. The league table takes account of student experience, student opinion on teaching quality, graduate job prospects and course entry standards.
Earlier this year, Kent Law School was ranked 16th out of 101 UK law schools in The Guardian University Guide’s subject table for law and 18th in the UK in The Complete University Guide 2020.
The Law School has an excellent global reputation for law – ranked 58th in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2019, it is amongst the top 150 law schools in the world in the Shanghai Rankings Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2019 and amongst the top 200 law schools in the QS World University Rankings 2019.
In addition to its reputation as a leading UK law school with a distinctive ‘critical approach’ to teaching law, the Law School has an international reputation for producing world-leading research. In the most recent Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2014, Kent Law School was ranked eighth in the UK for research intensity. Almost all (99%) of the School’s research was judged to be of international quality with 79% judged as ‘world-leading’ or ‘internationally excellent’.
This summer, the Law School celebrated the 50th anniversary of the graduation of the first cohort of law students at Kent with a graduation, two receptions and a commemorative book.
