Applications have opened for a new LLM in Human Rights Law at the Brussels School of International Studies (BSIS).
To celebrate the launch of the new Masters in Law programme, BSIS is offering a full scholarship worth €16,500 (equivalent to a 100% fee waiver) to one successful applicant. The scholarship is open to applicants of all nationalities.
The new programme will begin in September 2015 and will be taught in the critical tradition of Kent Law School. It will examine the theory and practice of human rights law, international criminal law, humanitarian law, transitional justice, migration law and other fields in the context of different policy areas and various academic disciplines.
It is particularly suited to those who currently work in, or hope to work in, international organisations, non-governmental organisations, international law firms and foreign affairs departments.
Modules offered will include:
- EU Migration Law
- International Criminal Law
- International Human Rights Law
- International Migration Law
- Law of Armed Conflict
- Transitional Justice and the Rule of Law
In line with a new design for all ten degrees offered at BSIS, the LLM in Human Rights Law allows you to choose a secondary area of specialisation by selecting modules from other programmes. For example, you may choose to study modules such as Conflict and Security, or International Migration, allowing you, for example, to graduate with an LLM degree in Human Rights Law with International Development.
Applications for the new LLM in Human Rights Law can be made online. There is no fixed closing deadline for applications but we strongly recommend that you apply as soon as possible and no later than three months before your intended start date.
Applications for the accompanying scholarship however, must be submitted by 24 April. To apply for the scholarship, please state your interest in the ‘Reasons for Study’ section of the application form .
