Reimagining Legal Education Through Archives and Design

By lac44 | 05 August 2025

Amanda Perry-Kessaris (Kent Law School) and Emily Allbon (City St Georges) are working in partnership with The Postal Museum to find out how we can use archives to enliven legal education.
They will support academics from around the UK to create a set of ‘sparks’–expert, accessible, commentaries–which link specific items from The Postal Museum Collections to each of the core law subjects (contract, criminal, tort, public, land, trusts, EU). These sparks will be directed to educators, students, and members of the public working from A-Level upwards. They will be made freely available online via Lawbore, the leading directory to resources for those studying law.
Amanda said ’A key aim of this project is to open up both law and archives to a wide range of people, and we hope to be able to scale it up to include more law subjects in future.’ To find out more, visit the project webpage.
This project builds on Amanda’s and Emily’s research and practice in legal design. Find out more by listening to their conversation about Design in Legal Education, a visually rich, experience-led book that they co-edited in 2022.
