Final year Law and non-law students are invited to learn more about postgraduate funding and study opportunities at Kent Law School by coming to one of four open events taking place in Canterbury, Brussels and Paris.
Programmes at Kent Law School are open to all graduates from a relevant discipline (an undergraduate degree in law is not a requirement) and may be of particular interest to students interested in developing their legal skills.
A Postgraduate Open Day for all visitors will be held on our Canterbury campus on Saturday 28 November from 10am – 1pm. This event offers an excellent opportunity for students to speak to specialist academics and admissions staff about Kent Law School’s innovative, one-year Masters in Law programme, the Kent LLM.
The Kent LLM enables students to broaden and deepen their knowledge and understanding of law by specialising in one or more different areas, according to their career interests and aspirations, even if they are a non-law graduate. Students have the opportunity to develop specialisms in a host of subject areas including:
- Criminal Justice
- Environmental Law and Policy
- European Law
- Human Rights Law
- International Commercial Law
- International Criminal Justice
- International Environmental Law
- International Law
- International Law with International Relations
- Law and the Humanities
- Medical Law and Ethics
A postgraduate information session, aimed more specifically at current Kent students, will be held on Wednesday 2 December on our Canterbury campus. At the event, the Law School’s Directors of Graduate Research, Dr Simone Wong and Professor Iain Ramsay, together with LLM Stream Specialists, will explain what you can study on the Kent LLM, how you can apply and will provide information about the scholarships that are available. A couple of our students, both law and non-law, who are currently on the LLM programme will speak about their experience of transition from undergraduate to postgraduate degrees. There will be an opportunity over refreshments to meet with our academics and current LLM students and to ask questions about the Kent LLM. The event will be held in Eliot Lecture Theatre 2 (ELT2) from 4pm – 6pm. Students are asked to complete a doodle poll to confirm their attendance.
The event also offer a chance to find out about Kent’s £9m postgraduate scholarship fund, our competitive fees and the Global Skills Award and Researcher Development Programme that help enhance your career prospects.
