Two exciting and unique career opportunities for postdoctoral researchers are currently on offer at Kent Law School.
The two-year postdoctoral researcher positions are open to early career scholars, in all social sciences and humanities disciplines, whose research is relevant to work carried out at Kent Law School. The School is particularly keen to recruit scholars with an interest in carrying out ground-breaking interdisciplinary research in law.

Kent Law School’s world class academic standing for research quality was confirmed in the most recent Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2014 when it was ranked 8th in the UK for research intensity, 7th for research power and in the top 20 for research output, research quality, and research impact. Almost all (99%) of the research submitted was judged to be of international quality and the School’s environment was judged to be conducive to supporting the development of world-leading research.
The School is home to several dynamic research centres, each offering a rich and varied programme of seminars, film screenings, visiting speakers, workshops, conferences and other research events. Centres include the Kent Centre for Law, Gender and Sexuality; the Kent Centre for European and Comparative Law; the Centre for Critical International Law; and the Centre for Critical Thought. In addition there are numerous research groups and a large number of externally funded research projects.
Kent Law School is ranked 13th in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2016, 17th in the Guardian Good University Guide 2016 and is ranked amongst the top 150 law schools in the world in the latest QS World University Rankings. In the latest National Student Survey (NSS) 2015, the School achieved high levels of student satisfaction with teaching (90%) and 90% of final year undergraduate students reported that they were satisfied overall.
