Kent Innovation and Enterprise in collaboration with Learning & Organisational Development are holding an event exploring innovation, enterprise and external engagement.
Members of staff interested in innovation, enterprise and external engagement are invited to attend a networking lunch on Wednesday 15th January 2020 where staff from KIE will give a brief overview of the various ways in which they can support academics to develop external engagement / innovation / enterprise in their areas of expertise. The meeting is also an opportunity to share your (School’s) experiences of success and challenge in this area. There will be an opportunity for you to let us know what other support from KIE might be helpful, in particular in light of the forthcoming Knowledge Exchange Framework (KEF). KIE can support a range of ways to work with external partners (including business, industry, public bodies or charities), such as:
- Short term consultancy, and funding options for collaborative projects (including EIRA)
- Longer term collaborative projects, including Knowledge Transfer Partnerships and Industrial Strategy funded projects
- Commercialisation, Intellectual Property
- Spin-outs & start ups
A specific focus at this event will be a briefing on running Professional Development Training (PDT) sessions for external professionals based on academic expertise. Current examples of these include the Adult Social Care Outcomes Toolkit (SSPSSR) and the Identity and Belonging Conference (Psychology).
KIE encourage Directors of Innovation/External Engagement and those with equivalent responsibilities in Schools/Divisions to attend. However, please do also extend the invitation and circulate this email to others with an interest in innovation and enterprise.
If you would like to attend, please register here where you will find further details, venue etc.
