Stage 3 BA student, Matthew Maganga, writes article for Involved

BA (Hons) Architecture Stage 3 student, Matthew Maganga, has recently written an article titled, ‘The Art of the Walk: My Love Letter to Walking‘ in INVOLVED: The voice of the architecture student.

Inspired by the Stage 3 Urban Intervention project brief, Matthew explained how his current project made him reflect about his experiences of walking through the various cities he has visited, “I guess about the urban intervention project – the brief is to create a greener and more walkable city – so the article was in part a reflection of how we interact with spaces while walking through them.”

This year’s Stage 3 Urban Intervention project, convened by Dr Nikolaos Karydis, is titled, ‘Canterbury: Redesigning the fringe of a CO2-free city’. The project brief focuses on sustainable urban design, and introduces students to the art of designing groups of buildings, urban spaces, and landscapes in a way that addresses today’s environmental challenges.
