For the first time, Golf was included in the Staff Varsity calendar, with the fixture taking place at Boughton Golf Club on its 9-hole par-3 course. Designed to engage both experienced golfers and those new to the sport, the event provided a fantastic opportunity for staff from both universities to enjoy some friendly competition while meeting colleagues from across the institutions.
Seven staff members from the University of Kent took part, with the competition played in a great spirit and a welcoming atmosphere throughout. Using the Stableford scoring format, there were some excellent performances from all involved, and the event was exceptionally well organised by Canterbury Christ Church University. Special thanks go to Ben Trott from CCCU for coordinating such a successful event.
In the end, the University of Kent claimed victory, levelling the Staff Varsity series at 1–1. A special congratulations goes to Jack Wagstaff for being crowned Best Player, while Joel Hughes and Harry Rogers picked up the Closest to the Pin prizes. Overall, it was an enjoyable and social event that showcased the inclusive nature of Staff Varsity, and it was great to spend time with colleagues from CCCU both on and off the course.
