Family Olympics Day at University of Kent

As we approach the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games this summer, we’re hosting some fun, Olympic-themed games and activities for all children aged 5 to 12 years old on Saturday 13 July! This FREE event is based at The Pavilion at the University of Kent Canterbury campus. There’s no need to book – just turn up on the day between 9.30am and 12.30pm to take part in any or all the games.

Here’s what’s going on:

  • At 9.30am we kick things off with a Drums Alive session, where children will be given an exercise ball and drum sticks and will drum along to a beat. This ‘Opening Ceremony’ kicks off our Olympics Family Day!
  • At 10.15am our tennis aces take to the court to demonstrate and get children active in a fun, skills-based tennis session.
  • At 11am we’re joined by our resident Hockey Olympian Mel Clewlow, who will run a hockey session for all abilities.
  • At 11.45, we round off the sports with an athletics session which will include some running races and skills sessions.
  • Throughout the day, we’ll be offering free minigolf for all. This is available from 9.30am to 12.30pm for all you golf enthusiasts!
  • Our SmokeWorks BBQ will be selling food and drinks throughout the event, with vegetarian and vegan options available.

We look forward to seeing you there! Contact sportsenquiries@kent.ac.uk if you have any questions.
