*Update*
On Sunday 25 January we were pleased to welcome more than 1500 runners and 500 spectators to the University of Kent for the first ever Canterbury 10 Mile race to start and finish outside the Sports Centre on the Canterbury campus. Luckily, the weather held out for the registration and duration of the race.
All participants were asked to register at the Sports Centre which also acted as the race HQ with baggage area, changing rooms, and toilet facilities.
Once all participants were registered, the race officially started at 9am. The 10 mile course took all participants across campus on a loop before heading out towards Whitstable and back along the popular Crab and Winkle Way. After just over 50 minutes, the first runner to complete the 10-mile course crossed the line to claim first place. Trophies were given out to category winners, but all finishers were given a medal for completion of the course.
Sports massages were performed by our student-led massage team from the School of Sport, Exercise, and Rehabilitation Sciences, providing much needed relief following a gruelling 10-mile race along an undulating course.
Congratulations to all runners on the day, we hope to welcome you back to the University of Kent in 2027.
You can see the race results from this event on the Canterbury 10 Mile race website, plus image galleries from previous years.
