Get involved with sport at Kent this term

It’s a busy term at Kent Sport with lots of fun activities to get involved in. The Inter College and Intramural competitions continue and Let’s Play has a packed timetable of activities for just £1.

The term started last week with the chumash, basketball and football Inter College leagues. Chumash runs every Tuesday in Hall 2 at 7:30pm and is open for all abilities, likewise football takes place weekly on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday on the 3G pitches. If basketball is your thing then that takes place at the Sports Centre fortnightly on a Sunday and as always new players are welcome.

The fun continues this week with Inter College rowing on Wednesday, which is sure to work up a sweat; and badminton starts fortnightly on Thursday in Hall 3 at 5pm. On Saturday there is a netball tournament for all abilities at 1pm, so grab your friends and head down to the Sports Centre.

Looking ahead to the rest of the term, there is still plenty to keep you busy and active. Inter College cricket starts next Tuesday and then runs weekly at 5pm. There is a swimming gala on 14 February, another netball tournament on 19 March and the tennis cup on 5 March. As normal all abilities are welcome so make this the term you try something new!

Let’s Play continue to offer a wide range of activities. Ever fancied canoeing? Cycling? Squash? Or swimming lessons? Well now is your chance to give them a go and perhaps discover a hidden talent! The timetable also contains dedicated This Girl Can sessions of weight lifting, swimming and netball.

With so much going on at Kent Sport make this your most active term at university. Have a go at new sports, bring your friends and have fun!
