Kent Business School was pleased to jointly host a business event with Burgess Hodgson, Chartered Accountants, on Thursday for regionally-based business leaders and owners of Small to Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs).
The event reached full capacity with Dr Simon Raby and Dr Mark Gilham of Kent Business School and partners from Burgess Hodgson facilitating workshops. These encouraged participants to reflect on their current use of time to move forward into a more strategic space.
Dr Simon Raby comments, “Typically owner-managers and senior leaders find it hard to create the space for strategic thinking, and this hampers the transitions they want and need to make from ‘technical specialist’ to ‘strategic leader.’
The feedback from the event was positive with participants commenting that they felt “focused,” “energised” and “reflective” during and after the session.
As one of the event organisers, Dr Simon Raby felt the evening was a great success:
“What an incredible evening. The conversations started before the event and gathered pace during and after the session. I sensed a huge amount of engagement and excitement towards examining what we really need to do to grow personally and organisationally”
The Centre for Employment, Competitiveness and Growth (ECG) has been helping SME owner-managers resolve their growth and performance challenges for over ten years.
