University of Ingolstadt study visit 2014

On Monday 15 September 2014, Kent Business School MBA programme director Dr Pamela Yeow welcomed 10 MBA students from University of Ingolstadt (Germany) on a week-long executive education programme.

This well-established programme immerses students in the study of contemporary intercultural management issues. As Dr Pamela Yeow describes,

“Students explore the themes of strategy, leadership, employee engagement and international business through the lens of cultural awareness. This allows them to fully understand its impact in shaping successful global organisations.”

The students enjoy lectures, seminars and workshops in the subject areas of intercultural communication, the differences between national and organisational culture, the cross-cultural negotiation process, as well as the role of cultural management in a global context.

The programme incorporates relevant case-study analysis and a company visit to explore the issues in situ and enrich the learning experience. This year the students were welcomed by Cummins Power Generation, a world-leading company in their field, with an outstanding record in supporting and managing a diverse workforce across their global operations. The visit included a talk by a company representative on aspects of international and intercultural management, and a tour of the plant.

Students also engage with KBS’s academic and student community socially and enjoy networking events in the cathedral city of Canterbury.

Kent Business School is seeking new partnerships for executive education programmes, building on the strength and breadth of expertise held by its multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural team of academics.
