All three students will start in September 2022 and are fully funded for their three year PhD studies.SeNSS will cover their international student fees as well as providing a maintenance allowance and extra research funding.

Dr Carola Leicht remarked: “I am very excited to welcome those students into the KBS PGR community and am confident that they will stimulate the research environment within the Division and their departments, I would like to congratulate them on their success.”

The students will be supervised by Prof Ben Lowe, Dr Dan Petrovici, Dr Abdullah Iqbal and Dr Timothy King.

Two summer summer placement schemes for UG students in their first or second year of study who identify as coming from an underrepresented group were also awarded. The two students will be working with Dr Carola Leicht for eight weeks on related projects, exploring the processes that make role models successful.
