The University of Kent’s new part-time Postgraduate Certificate in Employee Engagement launches this October. The course is the UK’s first university-accredited specialist qualification focusing exclusively on engagement.
At Kent Business School, Professor Katie Truss, Director of Studies, Postgraduate Certificate in Employee Engagement says, “I know from talking with Employee Engagement Managers during our recent government-funded seminar series (click here for more details) on employee engagement at the University of Kent that there is a lot of demand for a course that introduces the main theories underpinning engagement, as well as clear insights into their practical application in the workplace.”
To best fit the busy lifestyle of working professionals the course is structured as four blocks each running Friday-Sunday inclusive starting in October 2012 through to May 2013. Studying for the Postgraduate Certificate will enable you to:
• Achieve formal recognition for your expertise in engagement
• Understand and apply the theoretical underpinnings of employee engagement
• Critically evaluate and enhance your organisation’s engagement strategy and practices
• Learn about the entire employee engagement cycle from needs analysis, strategy development and implementation to evaluation and embedding an engagement culture
The programme is delivered by a multi-disciplinary team of academic experts and practising employee engagement professionals, featuring live case studies and including an overview of the relevant theories and concepts underpinning engagement in the workplace. Assessment is via assignments and presentations based directly on your own organisation, so you can take the theories and apply them directly to your workplace.
The course is aimed at HR, employee engagement, internal communications and customer service professionals as well as line managers and senior managers with an interest in understanding the realities of how engagement works.
The programme is available at the University of Kent’s award-winning Medway campus close to Chatham Historic Dockyard, easily accessible via all forms of public transport including Eurostar. There are a number of hotels in easy reach of the campus for those wishing to stay overnight.
