Kent Business School celebrates continued EQUIS accreditation

Kent Business School (KBS) has once again earned the prestigious EQUIS accreditation from the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD), reaffirming its global standing in business education. First awarded in 2021, this renewed three-year accreditation recognises KBS’s unwavering commitment to excellence, innovation, and impactful learning.

EQUIS (European Quality Improvement System) is among the most rigorous and comprehensive accreditation systems for business schools, assessing institutions across ten key dimensions, which includes: governance, academic programmes, student experience, faculty expertise, research impact, international outlook, ethics, responsibility, sustainability, and engagement with industry and society.

This reaccreditation not only affirms KBS’s quality and international relevance, but also provides a valuable roadmap for strategic development and continuous improvement. It secures KBS’s position within a global network of top-tier business schools dedicated to mutual learning and the advancement of best practices.

Professor Jesse O’Hanley, Dean of Kent Business School, shared his thoughts on the achievement:

“Kent Business School is thrilled to be awarded EQUIS reaccreditation for a further three years. This prestigious recognition reflects our ongoing commitment to excellence in business education, research, and student experience. The reaccreditation process was a valuable opportunity to reflect on our strengths and identify areas for further improvement and growth. We are incredibly proud of our staff, students, and partners, whose dedication and hard work made this achievement possible. EQUIS reaccreditation reinforces our position as a leading, internationally recognised business school and motivates us to continue delivering outstanding education and impactful research.”

Lyndsay Whiting, Quality Assurance and Enhancement Manager, expressed pride in the team’s achievement:

I am extremely pleased that Kent Business School has achieved EQUIS accreditation for a further three years. This reaccreditation showcases the hard work and commitment from all colleagues in delivering and demonstrating continuous improvement in the provision of business education, research and innovation to the highest global standards.  The reaccreditation also highlights the invaluable contributions from our students, alumni and external partners to the ongoing success of the school.

Kent Business School continues to rank among the top 1% of business schools worldwide and proudly retains its elite ‘Triple Crown’ status—held by only a select group of institutions globally. The Triple Crown comprises accreditations from EQUIS, the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), and the Association of MBAs (AMBA)—a testament to the School’s excellence across all dimensions of business education.
