Exam season is nearly over and it’s time to shake off your stress and have a good time.

Check out our handy guide to fun things going on this summer around campus and beyond. 

Mario Mayhem! 

Stick on your best dungarees, buckle up and prepare for spontaneous Mario Kart games throughout the evening at our Mario Mayhem event.

Head to RLT1 on the 19th of May at 18:00-22:00.

P.S its free! But be quick only available for a maximum of 40 students (you may want to stock up on some banana peels to throw your opponent’s off).

Clean living  

Join us on our Campus Litter Pick and help create a positive and green space for you and your classmates, as well earn Employability points. 

Don’t stress about booking, its free and you only need to turn up outside the Locke Building on Thursday 1 June 2023.

Explore a crime scene. 

Have Netflix documentaries got you thinking like a professional forensic scientist?

Time to put this to the test. Check out Pint of Science ‘s forensic science workshop on 22nd May on Dock Road, Chatham.

It’s only £5 a ticket but be sure to book beforehand. 

Fairies & Folklore. 

Eastgate House is a Grade I listed Elizabethan townhouse in Rochester and is famous for links to Charles Dickens.  

This May, the Tudor townhouse is open to discover whimsical fairy tales, old Kentish customs and traditions of yesteryear. Normal admission prices apply. 

Join the Victorian Summer Ball 

Experience the old Kent traditions with the Dickens Costumed Summer Ball on 9th June. (pictured above at the top of the article).

Dress up in your Victorian glad rags and frolic through the rocky cobble roads in Rochester before dancing to live band, Legacy.

Fabulous Food & Drink festival 

Experience a range of food and drinks from local award-winning producers alongside beer, wine and cider at the Food & Drink Festival running on 27, 28 and 29 May.

Race to the finish line with the dramatic Dragonboat race on the Sunday.

Calling all gamers! Get ready for 80 acres of entertainment, Cosplay events, acres of markets filled with your favourite video game merch at the Medway Gaming Festival. 

Become the next e-sport champion with the state-of-the-art videogame zones; want something more mechanical well don’t worry the event has a Robot Battle Arena as well as a Nerf Arena!

Walk around the beautiful Upnor Castle and village from the 1500s, learn about the history of the castle as well as fun facts from the Elizabethan era.  

Perfect for a mindset sweep for Uni students, be careful though, misbehaving may cause the guillotine to be brought out! Yikes. 

The ultimate escape!

Hysteria throws you into an immersive story that will torture and torment you as you crack codes, find clues and ultimately make your escape. 

So while it might not exactly offer complete rest and relaxation, it will take your mind off things!

‘Ave a word

More than 70 international and local best-selling authors, West End playwrights and award-winning poets will inspire residents and visitors at Medway River Lit, a spectacular new literary festival.

Produced by local organization Wordsmithery the event runs in a range of locations from Friday 2 June to Sunday 11 June 2023.
