KBS alumna Tiwa Savage to perform at Windsor Coronation Concert

Tiwa Savage, who studied Business Administration at Kent Business School, will perform at the historical coronation of the British monarch, King Charles III. 

The coronation concert and Big Lunch will take place on Sunday, May 7, 2023 and Tiwa will appear alongside other music stars including Steve Winwood, DJ Pete Tong, Lang Lang and Lucy, Paloma Faith, Take That and Olly Murs.  

Speaking about the event, she said: ‘I look forward to joining the celebrations and bringing Afrobeats to Windsor Castle for the first time!’ 

Tiwa known as ‘The Queen of Afrobeats’ has produced four hit albums, 23 singles, and 10 music videos following her graduation from Kent. 

She was awarded an honorary doctorate at Kent for her incredible music career last July, delivering a music-injected speech at Canterbury Cathedral (see our clip above). 

Tiwa was the first African woman to sell-out at the Indigo-02 and win the Best African Act at the 2018 MTV Europe Music Awards.  

The star has in excess of 56 million of views on YouTube for track, ‘Somebody’s Son (featuring Brandy)’ and a staggering 16.7 million followers on Instagram. 

She is also an avid philanthropist, focusing on youth engagement organisations and breast cancer screening programmes in Nigeria.  

Speaking to Kent Business School last year she said: ‘Anytime I’m in boardrooms, anytime I’m looking at negotiating contracts. I use it (my degree) in every single aspect of my career.’
