The University of Kent is happy to announce that a new Scholarship funded by the University of Kent Signature Research Theme “Positive Environmental Futures” is being offered to prospective PhD students.
This is an exciting opportunity for an exceptional PhD candidate to lead research centred on seaside arts festivals and improve our understanding of the various sustainability issues at play in these ephemeral events and at host locations that are especially vulnerable to the effects of climate change. It is anticipated that findings from this interdisciplinary project will underpin key considerations for future arts festival management and curation.
Kent Business School lecturer in Management Dr Juliane Thieme and co-supervisor of the scholarship says:
We are excited about this interdisciplinary project across the Department of Humanities and Kent Business School, and investigate the timely issue of sustainability at arts festivals, which play an important social and economic role in our region. We are looking for enthusiastic and creative candidates to take on this topic.
