Professor Marian Garcia Appointed to ABIS Board of Directors

Professor Marian Garcia, Dean of Kent Business School, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Academy of Business in Society.

ABIS – The Academy of Business in Society is a global network of over 100 companies and academic institutions whose expertise, commitment and resources aim to build a sustainable future for business.

Professor Garcia says: “I am thrilled to be offered a place on the Board of Directors at ABIS. The organisation is admirable in its goal to leverage a sustainable future for business in society through research and education, a mission which is echoed here at Kent Business School. With my background in innovation, research and experience in the educational field, I hope to bring a positive perspective to the network, one I hope can be filtered to wider society, helping to build a better future for all.”

The Board of Directors makes decisions on all matters relevant to the achievement of ABIS’ objectives, specifically the management of ABIS projects and the allocation of funding. Board members are composed by elected representatives from business & academic partners.

ABIS’ mission is to advance the role of business in society through research and education. Their ambition is to make a significant contribution to the debate and the practice involved in equipping current and future business leaders with the knowledge, skills and capabilities for the long-term success of business in society.
