- Visit beautiful Rochester This chocolate-box micro city is awash with culture and culinary delights. From the ancient castle, dated 1066, to the stoned paved high street packed with vintage shops, independent bars and restaurants. Studying at KBS Medway, you will even graduate in the grandeur of Rochester’s stunning cathedral.
- Run round St Marys island. Formerly part of the historic dockyard, the founded-by-romans spot has been built into a bustling area of housing, shops and social spaces. Take a route around its paths and spot moments in time across the waters of The River Medway including the stunning Upnor Castle.

A popular tourist attraction, The Dockyard is a shrine to the once lucrative and internationally renowned shipping industry of yesteryear.
- Try the county’s homegrown gin! Copper Rivet Distillery uses Kentish grain grown in fields within 20 miles of the Medway Campus to produce spirits including whiskey, gin and vodka. The company offers tastings and tours to suit every budget.
- Find out how engineers fuelled the British army. Kent’s largest military museum The Royal Engineers Museum contains artefacts including Victoria crosses, parts of the Berlin wall and a Harrier jump jet, the display is famous for its historical and international importance.
- Try out some brrrrillliant winter sport Chatham Snowboard and Ski Centre is home to a dry skiing and snowboarding slope plus a tube and taboggan run and close by in Gillingham you can visit the Planet Ice for some serious skating.
Hangloose at Bluewater - Shop til’ you drop at Bluewater Shopping Centre. A jaw-dropping 330 stores, 40 restaurants and a 13-screen cinema are just a bus ride away at the 4th largest shopping centre in the country, Bluewater. The vast site has also just launched its very own outdoor adventure activity – Hang Loose – featuring the longest zip wire in the UK.
- Unleash your competitive spirt at Ninja Warrior UK – Tackle the fun-packed inflatable obstacle course inspired by the hit ITV show to show off your Ninja skills, keep fit and have fun.
- Visit a Kent coastal town –The crashing seas and soft sands of the Kent Coast are but an hour away by car or easily accessed by rail, including the art hub of Margate with it’s very own fairground inspired theme park-come events venue, Dreamland. Other Blue Flag Award Winners include Botany Bay and Joss Bay in Broadstairs, and Westbrook Bay in Margate.
