950 Tune in to KBS and ASPIRE Sustainable Start-Up Stories

More than 900 people watched two inspiring entrepreneurs who have been supported by ASPIRE share their start-up stories as part of a virtual international event

The Meet Entrepreneurs live session hosted on British Council Azerbaijan Facebook page took place on Thursday 25 November as part of the organisation’s Creative Spark initiative.

Polo Lam and Tobi Kolawole-Olutade shared their story of setting up a sustainable and innovative businesses, during the session watched by 950 people.

The webinar was full of inspiring stories, examples and useful recommendations which the speakers shared with those who are interested in learning how to start and grow innovative start-ups.

Polo, who studied at Kent Business School, now runs a virtual marketing company based in Spain. DeseoVR specialises in creating 3D 360° tours of commercial and educational buildings.

Tobi, who studied Politics and International Relations, spoke about founding RR Collective, a start-up which upcycles waste into beautiful jewellery and accessories.

The Creative Spark Higher Education Enterprise Programme runs in Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine and the UK. ASPIRE is part of the global collaboration working with ADA University in Azerbaijan. It provides thousands of young people with enterprise and English skills to help them build their own businesses and create their own career paths. This happens through higher education and creative institutions working together in partnerships, supported by the British Council.
