I am a Corporate Banker with over sixteen years’ experience spanning across corporate banking, eBusiness, foreign funds transfer and customer services.

I am currently involved in corporate banking functions and responsible for developing critical relationships with decision makers while defining and communicating commercial opportunities for new and existing clients.

Outside of work, I am an enthusiastic traveller. I also love visiting museums and medieval ruins.

Achievements

  • Sterling Management Associate Program (SMAP) is an 18-month fast-track leadership (generalist/specialist) career advancement program for identified talents within banking. I completed the program and received a double promotion from Banking Officer to Assistant Manager pay grade in 2015.
  • I was promoted to the position of Head-Upstream Oil & Gas of Sterling Bank in 2018.

What attracted you to the Kent MBA programme and why?

I liked the pedigree of the University of Kent as an institution of academic excellence, evidenced by its Gold Award in the UK Government’s Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) – which is only awarded to institutions that consistently deliver exceptional teaching, learning and outcomes for students.

What were your motivations for undertaking an MBA?

I decided to pursue an MBA at Kent Business School to learn more about the world of Business and deepen my strategic thinking, business management and financial analysis skills.

Aspiration

Attending KBS with its focus on research-based learning and quantitative training would not only allow me to utilise the skills and knowledge I have garnered in my Nigerian banking career, but would also expand this foundation to better prepare me to positively impact my personal business and career trajectory.

Advice

You do not need to make costly mistakes before becoming a champion. Take a short cut by learning from the mistakes of others.
