Eight Reasons to Study in Canterbury

There are many reasons why Canterbury should be high on your list of places to undertake undergraduate or postgraduate study. Here are just a few of them…

1. Big on facilities

The home of Kent Business School in Canterbury is the RIBA award-winning state-of-the-art Sibson building which offers spacious teaching facilities, executive seminar and lecture rooms, as well as excellent IT facilities and learning resources.

The award-winning Templeman Library is open 24/7 during term time and home to 1,600 study spaces – from relaxed and silent spaces to group study booths.

2. The area oozes culture

Canterbury is home to the world-renowned Canterbury Cathedral, open for visiting all year round and under a 10-minute bus trip away from the campus. If you don’t make it inside the Cathedral, stood just outside the library facing the city centre is a picturesque view of the Cathedral!

3. An actual cinema on campus

Based in the heart of the Canterbury campus, the Gulbenkian shows all the latest Blockbuster film releases as well as a variety of independent films. They also showcase a range of live events for all ages which you can get directly involved in.

5. Shop ’til you drop

Canterbury’s Whitefriars is home to some of the biggest high-street names. If that’s not for you then you can explore more independent, specialist shops and boutiques down the cobbled side and back streets of Canterbury. When it’s time for a pit-stop, the city centre offers plenty of options for drinks and dining, or you could always head back to campus…

6. Food

On the Canterbury Campus, you can find over 10 different cafes and restaurants to dine in for breakfast, lunch and dinner!
