PhD Student and KBS Lecturer Win Best Paper 2019

Congratulations to PhD student Jing Lyu and supervisor Ioannis Krasonikolakis whose paper won the Best Paper Award.

Jing Lyu, PhD student from Southampton Business School and her supervisor Dr Ioannis Krasonikolakis, Senior Lecturer in Digital Marketing at Kent Business School won the 2019 Best Paper Award at the International Conference on Electronic Business.

The paper entitled ‘Smartphone Uses in Brick-and-mortar Retailing Stores: Gratifications as Antecedents of Consumer’s State Anxiety and Purchase Intention’ won them the award at the top Electronic Business conference in the world.

The Conference was held in Newcastle Upon Tyne, on December 8-12, 2019 and the theme this year was Artificial Intelligence Empowered Business Processes. The International Conference brings together top researchers in Electronic Business field and related areas within Asia and around the world to present cutting-edge research and exchange intellectual ideas.

Dr Ioannis Krasonikolakis said ‘In the KBS Marketing group we have built an international team seeking new methods and applications to improve customer experience and quality of life. This award demonstrates our clear vision to respond to such requests by focusing on the appropriate use of established and new technologies in the field of technology acceptance, adoption and diffusion.’

Jing Lyu added ‘Networking with internationally leading scholars embracing Electronic Business domains was very inspiring, and I am looking forward to future research endeavours in the area of Digital Marketing’.
