Kent Business School is pleased to welcome Dr Laura Maran.
Dr Laura Maran is Senior Lecturer in Management Accounting at RMIT University (Australia) and course coordinator across the campuses of Melbourne, Vietnam, Singapore, Jakarta (Indonesia) and Open Universities of Australia. She received a number of College of Business teaching recognition awards for her teaching activity. She publishes in the fields of accounting history and management accounting for the public sector, with emphasis on the link between strategies and performance management systems.
Dr Maran maintains a strong link with the European academic community and actively participates in the professional and academic accounting associations both in Australia and Europe. She is a member of the editorial board of Accounting History and Accounting, Auditing & Accountability Journal. Her research has been published in highly ranked journals such as Critical Perspectives on Accounting and Financial Accountability and Management.
Dr Maran visited KBS to finalise an existing project with Prof Warwick Funnell, which led to the submission of a paper to Accounting, Auditing & Accountability Journal, and to develop further connections with KBS academics. During her stay at KBS she also started a new project with Dr Michele Bigoni on the managerial and accounting practices of Benedictine Houses in the XIV century, with the view to publish a paper on the topic.
