Dr Mark Hampton Represents KBS at EDUK Fair and Guest Lectures in Thailand

Dr Mark Hampton, Reader in Tourism Management and Faculty Director of Internationalisation, recently represented Kent Business School in Thailand at the EDUK Fair and gave two guest lectures at major universities in Bangkok.

Dr Hampton presented on Tourism and Economic Development in South-East Asia at Thammasat University, College of Innovation to seventy undergraduate students and academic staff. He also delivered a guest lecture at Mahidol University, International College.

As author of Backpacker Tourism Economic Development (Routledge, 2013) Dr Hampton gave his guest lectures on the rise of international tourism and highlighted the main socio-economic impacts of the rapid growth of tourism in South-East Asia.

Both guest lectures were an opportunity for KBS to strengthen its international relationships with these institutions and opened discussion about future collaborations.
