The World Bank and Commonwealth Secretariat have launched new publication that explores how tourism can facilitate growth, create jobs and improve livelihoods in small island developing states.
Dr Mark Hampton and Dr Julia Jeyacheya co-authored ‘Inclusive Growth and Tourism in Small Island Developing States’. The commissioned book provides deep analysis of the direct and indirect ways through which gains from tourism are achieved, discusses the main challenges facing the industry, and proposes recommendations for policy action.
The launch took place during the Small States Forum at the World Bank headquarters in Washington DC on 12 October 2013.
