Purpose of the Role

We are looking to recruit an industrial placement student studying business technology or a related subject to join our HR team at NATS in Whiteley, Hampshire.  The successful applicant will be given the opportunity to gain experience working in the Organisational Development (OD) team with a specific focus on providing infrastructure and technical support for some high profile change projects that run across the company.  Our projects for 2013 include:

  • Implementation of an SaaS Talent Management System
  • Introduction of a new Learning Management System
  • Launch of a Leadership Development Portfolio with multiple e-learning channels and platforms
  • Develop and deploy competency frameworks
  • Analyse data from the systems including Employee Opinion Survey and Personnel Competencies
  • Creating a flexible Job Family model

On a day-to-day basis, the successful student can expect to deal with NATS staff from across all departments from front line employee to senior managers including NATS Executives.  They will need to develop effective relationships with key partners and stakeholders, have strong interpersonal skills and be customer focused.

This placement provides an opportunity to make a real impact working as part of a team leading exciting organisational changes projects across the company.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

To provide IT & Web Development & Maintenance Support for HR Systems

To provide support as and when required across the OD function

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • As part of the ITMS integration team, understand the current LMS processes and integrate these into the new systems
  • Develop relationships with key customers and stakeholders to ensure the systems deliver the business requirements
  • Contribute to the creation of the e-channels and platforms for the Leadership Development Programme

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND PERSONAL QUALITIES

  • Microsoft Sharepoint Developer
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (database creation & complex functions)
  • Strong skills in other Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge of Learning Management Systems
  • This role requires a self-starter who enjoys working proactively and flexibly both alone and as part of a team, in a busy environment and often to tight deadlines
  • Excellent organisational, communication, written and planning skills are essential, as is a strong attention to detail
  • An interest in Organisational change and development would be an advantage
  • Maintains confidentiality
