Professor Andrew Fearne delivers keynote speech to the annual conference of the The Norwegian Association of Purchasing and Logistics (NIMA) in Oslo, December 6/7.
This annual conference attracts senior managers in logistics, operations management and purchasing from a variety of industries in Norway, to discuss the key challenges and share best practice. Professor Fearne’s keynote presentation focused on value chain management (VCM), the paradigm shift from ‘push’ (supply chain management) to ‘pull’ (value chain management) and the implications for supply chain strategy, design and operations. In two further sessions Professor Fearne discussed the importance of collaboration and information sharing and highlighted the role that value chain analysis can play as a catalyst for change.
