The Winning Pitch! – Integrated Technologies Ltd

‘A fantastic scheme’
‘A great boost to my employability’
‘I have not see it done like this anywhere else’ – are just a few of the comments received today from students who took part in the School’s Pitch it! scheme today.

Pitch it! offers students the opportunity to work directly on a challenge set by businesses – the students get to sharpen their analytical, creative and presentation skills and the business receives new ideas approaches to consider back at the workplace.

Three weeks ago, participating Kent Business School MSc students visited Integrated Technologies Ltd (ITL), a highly successful design, manufacturing and technology business based in Ashford, where they were briefed on their challenge. Today they pitched their ideas to Integrated Technologies suggesting ideas to assisted the company and in the hope of winning the competition.

The CEO of ITL, Tom Cole, was full of praise:

‘The ideas coming forward today from the students has been overwhelming, I was so impressed that I have already asked some of them to visit the company and present their ideas to our managers.’

ITL Business Development Director Greg Smith was in agreement:
‘The students responded directly to the challenge we set them and it was difficult choosing a winning team. I was particularly impressed in hearing some novel ideas we hadn’t previously considered – overall an excellent experience and something we would like to run again with the Business School.’

Members of the winning student team were equally impressed. MSc student Afamefuna Ukata said, ‘I have not seen it done like this anywhere else. It is a real-life situation that makes all our learning come to life – fantastic!’

Similarly echoed by Tonya Jenene Proute: ‘Pitch it! is one of the great things available at Kent Business School that helps improve my chances of getting a job; it’s a great experience to pitch directly to business and a reason for choosing Kent Business School as a place to study.’
