Two business experts have joined forces in an initiative that looks set to benefit Kent companies and also introduce students to the world of work.

Crowe Clark Whitehill, a leading national firm offering Audit, Tax and Advisory services, with offices in Tunbridge Wells and Maidstone, has announced it is to collaborate with Kent Business School, part of the University of Kent.

The partnership will see Crowe Clark Whitehill expand its already successful business seminars into Canterbury and will also enable a broader range of topics to be covered.

Geert Struyven, Corporate Finance Partner at Crowe Clark Whitehill, said: “Teaming up with Kent Business School will give us access to high quality speakers on a wide range of topics. We are keen to share our expertise so it makes sense to join forces with a likeminded organisation that can help us reach more businesses across the county.

“We also want to promote our industry to students and help them to experience a taste of the real world. Our qualified and professional staff will be available to take part in tutorials and provide examples of genuine cases to work on – that makes a difference when you are training.”

A number of students will also be offered a placement in Crowe Clark Whitehill’s offices. The firm already employs a number of University of Kent students but as part of the agreement, suitable graduates will be offered permanent employment. In addition, Crowe Clark Whitehill will offer four students from the Master’s Finance Suite programmes a one month work placement.

Radu Tunaru, Professor of Finance at Kent Business School, commented: “As well as providing our students with valuable knowledge and experience, Crowe Clark Whitehill will also be promoting our research projects within the Kent business community. We have a lot of expertise to offer and hope that the new partnership will enable us to share it with more organisations.”
