Kent Business School offers free student membership to the Institute of Directors

Following a very successful pilot, The Institute of Directors will be launching a new student membership in September, to be offered only to a limited number of chosen partner universities.

Kent Business School is delighted to announce that it has been selected as the partner of choice in the Kent area and will be offering free membership to all of our Stage 2 students who have registered for a Year-in-Industry degree, both at Medway and Canterbury. The School will also be offering a limited number of memberships linked to our New Enterprise module CB612, to be awarded on merit.

This membership will provide our students with access to Institute of Director events, forums, crowd funding, mentoring and placement opportunities. The partnership will benefit both our students and the Institute of Directors, who will benefit from a younger membership, fresh talent, international insight and connections, as well as new enterprise. Students will benefit from increased employability, entrepreneurial development and connecting with business leaders.

Dr Sue Hornibrook, Head of Student Placements at Canterbury said, ‘Kent Business School is  to be able to offer Year-In-Industry programmes with this significant additional benefit that will not be available to many other business schools. With increasing competition in the jobs market, this will be a considerable asset in enhancing the employability of our graduates.”

David Williamson, Director of External Services explains, ‘It is anticipated that this partnership will lead to the development of Undergraduate and Postgraduate student projects, implants, guest speakers, engagement with employability workshops, engagement with our Research Centres, as well as specialist forums for the Institute of Directors membership to be held at both Medway and Canterbury.  This is a great opportunity to expand and promote our successful Placement programmes, and to develop a close working relationship with the Institute of Directors.’
