The People, Management and Organisation subject group at Kent Business School has hosted an Erasmus Teaching Exchange visit from the University of Bourgogne, Dijon, France. Professor Samuel Mercier, Dean of the Business School in Dijon, visited KBS’s Medway and Canterbury campuses and talked to undergraduate and postgraduate students about his work on corporate social responsibility in a European context. Samuel also held a seminar on his research for staff.
The visit was part of a long-term series of visits between the two Universities. In 2011, Professor Katie Truss visited Dijon on an Erasmus exchange where she presented her research on employee engagement and knowledge-intensive firms to staff and students, and Professor Mercier brought a group of students from his MSc in HRM students to visit the Medway campus, where they attended a presentation from Dr Mark Gilman and his colleagues from the Centre for Employment, Competitiveness and Growth, on SMEs in France and the UK.
KBS is in discussion with the University of Bourgogne about future collaborations in teaching, research, and staff and student exchanges.
