On Monday 19 September 2011, a business networking reception was held at the iconic Lloyds of London Building on Lime Street in the city of London.
Organised by the University and Kent Business School, the event provided a professional networking opportunity for alumni in business, and alumni of Kent Business School.
It was well attended with over 80 alumni students from the University of Kent from 1965 to 2009, who were welcomed by Professor Keith Mander, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, who gave an update about some of Kent’s recent successes and showed a timeline of the history of the University.
Attendees we delighted with the arranged tours of the historic underwriting floor, Lutine Bell and the famous Adam Room the original board room in the first Lloyds building in the 1700s which has been recreated piece by piece in the new Lloyds of London Building. The reception was held on the 11th floor with magnificent views over the city and beyond.
The University is very grateful to Steve Robertson, Head of Market Services at Lloyds, who studied his MBA at Kent Business School from 2003 to 2005 and kindly hosted the evening, as well as to his staff for their assistance in the smooth running of the evening.
