Lecturer holds seminar at the Joint Research Unit GAEL

Kent Business School’s Dr Diogo Souza-Monteiro was invited to provide a speech at the Joint Research Unit GAEL (Grenoble Applied Economics Laboratory), a combined laboratory of INRA (the French National Institute for Agricultural Research) and of the University Pierre Mendès in Grenoble 2, France, who conduct research in the areas of agriculture, consumption and environment.

On Thursday 8th September, 2011, Dr Diogo Souza-Monteiro, Lecturer of Marketing at the University of Kents’ Kent Business School provided an academic presentation on the paper “Conveying Nutritional Information with New Technologies: An Exploratory Study”, co-authored with Dr. Ben Lowe, Senior Lecturer in Marketing at Kent Business School and Professor Iain Fraser, Professor of Agri-Environmental Economics at the School of Economics, both University of Kent. This paper contributes to the ongoing debate over private and public policies to tackle the global obesity epidemic.
The talk was very well accepted and the audience provided great insights and comments. After the presentation several members of GAEL – UMR approached Dr. Souza Monteiro to discuss opportunities for future work.
