Why do I get a stale request error message?
Stale request error messages can appear when clicking into library resources such as e-books, journal articles, and databases.
This error message can appear when you:
- press the back button after logging into a resource
- open multiple links to library resources across different tabs without signing in
- open a bookmark to a login page rather than to the website you want to access
- are prevented from accessing the site due to your browser preventing cookies
How do I solve this error?
To solve this error you can close down the window and start your task again.
Alternatively you can :
- Click the back button and return to the previous page
- Click on the link again to access the resource
- If prompted, log in
If the error message still persists:
- Ensure cookies are allowed in your browser
- Verify that your anti-virus is not preventing access to the website
- Try a different browser
- Close all tabs
